Real Madrid fans have been left ecstatic after watching Trent Alexander-Arnold’s name in the starting line-up to face Racing Santander. Jose Mourinho made two changes to the team that beat Barcelona in El Clasico last Sunday, as Real Madrid hope to make it six straight wins after the international break.
Trent has been restricted to just three starts in La Liga this season. The Englishman played the full 90 minutes in the 4-0 win over Malaga in August. However, he had to wait two more weeks for his next start, which came in the dramatic 3-2 win away from home at Elche.
Thanks for the submission!
In between the games against Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, where he remained an unused substitute, Trent played 52 minutes from the start against Villarreal. Last week, he came off the bench and played just one minute as Real Madrid beat Barcelona at Camp Nou.
Fans have been calling out for Trent to get more opportunities this season. And his inclusion in the line-up for the clash against Racing Santander has raised their hopes.
One fan was relieved and wrote on X:
“Finally Trent has been released from Jose Mourinho’s prison”
Another supporter made an ambitious claim, stating this line-up that includes Trent can win everything this season:
“Trent!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the team that will win everything”

Real Madrid could move back to within just a point of Atletico Madrid, if they secure a win over Racing Santander. Los Blancos, who sit third in the table, have 24 points in 10 games, while leaders Barcelona have 30 after playing an extra game.
How does the rest of the Real Madrid line-up look vs Racing Santander?
In addition to Trent replacing Fede Valverde, Mourinho has welcomed Thibaut Courtois back in goal for the contest against Racing Santander. The Belgian shot-stopper missed El Clasico due to flu and was replaced by Andriy Lunin, who impressed at Camp Nou.
Ibrahima Konate and Dean Huijsen remain at the heart of Real Madrid’s defence, with Marc Cucurella at left-back. Bernardo Silva and Aurelien Tchouameni form the pivot, with Yan Diomande, Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler behind star striker Kylian Mbappe.
