A popular rising AEW star has just taken yet another shot at Chris Jericho, rubbing his recent disappointing loss right in his face. They did this while being outside the United States.
Nick Wayne has beaten Jericho twice, as he scored a win over him at Grand Slam: France and at AEW WrestleDream a couple of weeks ago. He has made sure to gloat at him every chance he gets, to the point where this entire routine of his has already gone viral on the internet. Wayne even has new merchandise related to his win over the veteran that fans can purchase.
The Prodigy is currently in Japan as he is competing in the NJPW Super Junior Tag League with former WWE Superstar KUSHIDA. The two are now known as Time Splitters V.2, inspired by the original duo featuring the Japanese star and Alex Shelley. They now have a 2-1 win-loss record in the tournament.
During their match yesterday, Nick Wayne got a sign from one of the fans in attendance, referencing his win over Chris Jericho. He posted the photo of himself holding it on social media, firing yet another shot at the veteran.
Chris Jericho is set for a blockbuster acting role
DEADLINE recently reported that The Nueve was cast for a role in The Greatest, a series on Prime Video about the life of Muhammad Ali. Jericho is set to portray wrestling icon Gorgeous George, who is said to be one of the early inspirations of the legendary boxer.
The limited series is set to make its way to the streaming platform on November 4, and Chris Jericho will be featured on the fourth episode of the show.
Despite falling short to Nick Wayne in their feud, Jericho has still proven that he can keep up with the young stars of the roster. While he may have to deal with Wayne’s gloating, he is still on a good run overall since returning to AEW this year. He is also thriving outside the ring, securing various roles and projects.
