Swerve Strickland is one of AEW’s biggest stars. He is currently allied with the New Level, and they are feuding with AEW World Trios Champions ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Brodido. The New Flavor committed a heinous act on this week’s Dynamite, and his teammate, Kofi, reacted to it a few hours later.
The New Level & Swerve Strickland will challenge ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Brodido for the World Trios at Full Gear 2026. Interestingly, Swerve wants this bout to be Texas Death and is ready to do anything to get his way.
Kofi and Austin Creed came face to face with Hangman and Brody King on this week’s Dynamite. During this promo segment, the company showed a disturbing video of the New Flavor holding the mask of a battered and beaten Bandido. The luchador was unmasked, but his hair covered his face. This was a spine-chilling visual.
Swerve eventually released a statement on X regarding his attack on the reigning ROH World Champion.
“Lotta bit of crime,” he wrote.
Kofi seems to regret being part of this rivalry. He evidently did not expect this feud to take such a violent turn. He reacted to his teammate’s actions and statement a few hours ago.
“Oh Lord…what have we gotten ourselves into?” wrote the former WWE star.
Swerve Strickland says it’s harder to create a five-mic album than to deliver a five-star match
In a recent interview with Billboard, Swerve Strickland stated that creating a five-mic album is much harder than delivering a five-star match. The former AEW World Champion is a talented rapper and has released many tracks.
“Five-mic album. Both parts are subjective, ’cause five mics for one person might be four-and-a-half or four to other people. Five-star match to Wrestling Observer were more like four [star] to anybody else, but to truly grasp the ear of multiple listeners, critics, fans and non-fans is tough. To me, a five-mic album stands the test of time. There’s all-time great lyricists that haven’t been able to pull that off and I’m not even at that level as a pure lyricist. A true genuine classic doesn’t fall out the sky anymore,” he said.
Only time will tell what the future holds for the former WWE star. He might win the World Title again someday.
