With Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley both dealing with injuries, the Baltimore Ravens have reportedly turned to the trade market to address their quarterback shortage. They are said to be finalizing a deal for veteran Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals, with the move expected to be completed this weekend.
The news, which emerged on Wednesday, generated plenty of debate on X. A lot of fans were far from impressed with the reported acquisition.

“Ravens might as well soft tank,” one fan said.
“Sources say the Ravens’ QB room now has its own group chat, and nobody knows each other’s last names,” one added.
“What did the cardinals get? Or was it just a hi five and a thank you,” one fan asked.
“The season is already cooked. Dumb move,” one commented.
“He looked terrible against the worst defense in the NFL,” one added.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that Huntley is likely done for the season after sustaining a turf toe injury on Sunday. The injury requires surgery, adding another setback to Baltimore’s quarterback situation.
Huntley’s expected absence follows Jackson’s placement on injured reserve as he prepares to undergo thumb surgery. Lamar Jackson will miss at least a month, although there is a possibility he won’t return before the season ends.
That leaves Jacoby Brissett in line to lead the Ravens’ offense for the rest of the campaign. The veteran began the season as Arizona’s starter, starting its first eight games before losing the job to Gardner Minshew II in Week 8. Minshew made an immediate impact, helping the Cardinals to a 33-30 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Brissett subsequently fell further down Arizona’s quarterback depth chart, with rookie Carson Beck named the backup and the veteran dropping to third string. He has thrown for 1,719 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions on a 63.3% completion rate this season.
Ravens may have to wait until Week 10 for Jacoby Brissett’s debut
The Baltimore Ravens may have to wait another week before getting Jacoby Brissett onto the field. According to Adam Schefter, the quarterback’s deal with the Ravens will not be completed in time for Thursday night’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, leaving undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano as the likely starter.
Brissett is now expected to suit up for the first time as a Raven in Week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.
The Ravens enter the week with a 4-4 record and desperately need a spark to revive their playoff push. With Lamar Jackson sidelined, the addition of Brissett gives the team an experienced option who can help keep the offense competitive until its franchise quarterback returns.
Brissett was selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft and has started 73 games across 11 seasons. He has a 23-50 record as a starter, having played for the Patriots, Colts, Dolphins, Browns, Commanders and Cardinals.
