WNBA fans slammed a Dream creator, Angela Perry, for promoting a Sephora boycott over the personal care and beauty products retailer’s support for the Golden State Valkyries. On Thursday, Atlanta secured an 80-69 win over Golden State in Game 6 of the WNBA Finals.
After the game, Sir. B Terrell called out Perry for criticizing Sephora, which is an official sponsor of the Valkyries, for supporting the Valks in the Finals series. Another fan reshared the post with the creator’s video attached.
“This fanbase is MISERABLE. The think pieces and conspiracy theories are still coming in after a DUB. Sephora HQ is based in SF. Valkyries’ practice facility is literally called the Sephora Performance Center. Are we slow?” the fan wrote.
Other fans swarmed the comments section with their opinions:
“Even if someone wasn’t sure about Sephora sponsoring the Valkyries, it takes 5 seconds to look it up. Stan culture needs to die,” one fan said.
“WNBA needs to bully these people outta the sport bc this just makes the wnba fans as a whole look like nut jobs,” another fan said.
“I swear some people don’t actually care about the basketball, let alone understand it. They’re just here for the drama and manufactured outrage,” another fan commented.
More reactions followed:
“Angela Perry is one of the biggest haters, who just grinds for Angel Reese and will just turn every criticism into a race war/culture issue. Just go to her Instagram. She has a pinned reel talking about a PR package she got from Angel Reese,” one fan commented.
“I don’t want to deal with the Dream/AR fans after these Finals. They are an exhausting fanbase and not smart,” another fan commented.
“Barbie FC closed the gap this season,” another fan said.
In April 2025, the Valkyries announced Sephora U.S. as a founding partner. The team also rebranded their 31,800-square-foot, state-of-the-art Oakland-based performance center as the “Sephora Performance Center.”
Dream creator walks back Sephora criticism ahead of Game 7 clash
After facing heavy backlash for her comments on Sephora, Angela Perry walked back her harsh remarks. She shared a Threads post on Instagram, accepting her mistake.
“I stand corrected. Sephora sponsors the Valkyries, so they should root for them! See y’all in Ballhalla for Game 7!” she wrote.
The Dream will take on the Valkyries in Game 7 of the WNBA Finals on Saturday at the Chase Center. The game will tip-off at 8:00 p.m. ET and be televised on the USA Network.
