Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes are set to collide in a Last Man Standing Match at Crown Jewel. The bitter rivals have been feuding for months and will finally settle their issues at the Riyadh PLE. A WWE insider has given his take on who should come out on top this Saturday.
Speaking on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts stated that The American Nightmare should defeat his former mentor at Crown Jewel. He added that Rhodes’ recent character change would be for nothing if he doesn’t beat Orton.
Thanks for the submission!
“Cody versus Randy, Last Man Standing, I think Cody’s gotta win. I think the idea here is Cody’s gotta win and you continue to question, was it worth it? This isn’t the Cody that we know, this is out of character for Cody Rhodes. Was it worth it? I think Cody has to win that,” Roberts said.
Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton to retain the Undisputed WWE Title at WrestleMania 42. However, The Viper got the last laugh after taking the QB1 out with a punt kick. Orton remained absent from television until SummerSlam, where he cost Rhodes his title match against CM Punk.
The bitter rivals collided once again at Sunday Night’s Main Event, where The Apex Predator evened the score by defeating Rhodes after the latter hesitated to put Orton away.
The Last Man Standing Match at Crown Jewel will conclude their trilogy. Only time will tell who walks out of the Riyadh PLE with the victory.
Cody Rhodes was nervous to ask Triple H about taking time off
Cody Rhodes recently starred in the Street Fighter movie. He played the character of Guile in the film.
Speaking on the Double Coverage podcast, Rhodes revealed that despite having a close relationship with Triple H, he was nervous to ask the WWE CCO about taking time off for filming.
However, it turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant conversation, as The Game was immediately on board and even proposed some ideas for Rhodes’ return.
