Hello and welcome to yet another edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s WWE News & Rumor Roundup. In this report, we will be looking at how Shawn Michaels will be joining Triple H on the main roster and who will replace him in NXT. There is also an update on Rhea Ripley as she recovers from her knee injury.
All that and more on this edition of the News & Rumor Roundup. So, without further ado, let’s dive into today’s report.
Thanks for the submission!
#5. Shawn Michaels to replace Bruce Prichard
It was revealed a few days back that legendary backstage name Bruce Prichard will be leaving his post as Director of Creative. He is set to call it a day after WrestleMania 43 and will be leaving his profession after three long decades.
According to PWInsider, Prichard’s replacement is none other than Shawn Michaels. The WWE Hall of Famer is the current Senior Vice President of Talent Development in NXT and is rumored to replace Bruce Prichard in his role. In doing that, he will be working closely with his best friend Triple H.
#4. AJ Styles, CM Punk and Bayley to be involved with WWE NXT
With Shawn Michaels potentially on his way to the main roster to replace Bruce Prichard, his place in NXT is going to be vacant and it seems like WWE have already decided who they will replace him with. It is going to be none other than AJ Styles. Along with AJ, the likes of CM Punk and Bayley are also rumored to have inputs in the developmental brand.
This was revealed in a report by Bryan Alvarez. He said:
“As of right now, it looks like Shawn Michaels replacing Bruce Prichard and AJ Styles getting his NXT role is the most likely scenario. It is believed there will be other NXT office changes in 2027 as well. Depending on what she wants to do with her career, Bayley could very well end up involved. Punk may also have more input. It is also believed the ID program will get “a fresh coat of paint” in early 2027 as well.”
#3. Rhea Ripley shares update ahead of Crown Jewel
Rhea Ripley has been away from wrestling and in ring action since July. Ever since she suffered a meniscus injury, the Eradicator has been on the sidelines. She underwent surgery on her knee and was on the mend to make a comeback as soon as possible.
And it seems like a return is well and truly on the cards. The former WWE women’s champion took to Instagram to post a picture with her husband Buddy Matthews. In that picture, she was seen without a knee brace and also in the best shape we have seen her in a long time. She also wrote, ‘👋🏼 stay ready,’ hinting at a comeback very soon.
#2. Joe Hendry squashed in 32 seconds
Things have not been going well for Joe Hendry of late. He arrived in WWE amid much fanfare from TNA Wrestling. However, that did not translate into success and he was stuck in the midcard and is now an afterthought.
He recently told in an interview how he believed he can be a top draw for the company and that his showing at WrestleMania against Randy Orton was proof of that. However, on WWE Main Event, he took on Bronson Reed and lost the match in 32 seconds in what was an embarrassing moment.
#1. Paul Heyman’s future revealed
Paul Heyman has taken a backseat ever since he joined the Vision. He has not been seen as regularly as he would have liked to on television. He has been central to the rivalry between Bron Breakker and Oba Femi and nothing else apart from that with the Vision.
According to Wrestlevotes on Fightful Select, it is being reported that WWE has a plan for Heyman to return to television soon. The report also states that the plan is for Paul Heyman to be involved in something outside the Vision but without cutting ties with Bron Breakker.
