Claudio Castagnoli suffered a major beatdown at the hands of Jay White this week on Fright Night Dynamite. He had to be stretchered off the premises, suggesting he could be out of action for a while. His absence could be catastrophic for Death Riders against The Cut faction. Therefore, a 12-time WWE champion might make his debut for All Elite Wrestling to replace Claudio in Death Riders.
The star is none other than Sheamus. He is a 3-time WWE Champion, a 1-time World Heavyweight Champion, a 5-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and a 3-time United States Champion. The Celtic Warrior’s WWE contract expired in the first week of October, and he has been a free agent since then. Many fans expect him to join All Elite Wrestling at some point down the line.
Sheamus has a rich history with Claudio Castagnoli. They had an iconic tag team called The Bar in WWE. As a tag team, the two stars won several championships, it helped them to form a good bond in the process. At this point in AEW, Castagnoli needs a friend’s support to help out Death Riders in his stead. Therefore, there is a good possibility that the former WWE Champion might replace Claudio to take on The Cut in AEW.
Jon Moxley has laid down a challenge for an Anarchy in the Arena match with The Cut at Full Gear. At this point, it is unclear if Castagnoli will be medically cleared to compete on the show. Therefore, AEW could add a surprise entry in the match as a replacement for the former WWE star. It could be none other than Sheamus, who could shock the world by joining Death Riders at Full Gear.
With that said, it is just speculation at the moment. Only time will tell what Tony Khan has planned for Claudio’s storyline in All Elite Wrestling moving forward.
Claudio Castagnoli to reunite with Sheamus in AEW?
Sheamus’ potential addition to Death Riders could be a game-changing move for All Elite Wrestling. He is a former WWE Champion who can be a major player in the mid-card division of the company. But it can also lead to his grand reunion with Claudio Castagnoli after all these years.
Claudio Castagnoli is unlikely to be out of action for a long time. He will make his return sooner rather than later. With Sheamus taking over in his absence, the two could reunite. This could then bring back The Bar in the tag team division of All Elite Wrestling.
Such an angle has the potential to be a major swerve in the world of professional wrestling leading to 2027. The Bar could be an incredible addition to the already stacked tag team division of the company. They could face talented duos like FTR, Young Bucks, and Brodido.
