This week’s edition of WWE SmackDown is expected to be a banger as WWE celebrates Halloween with a special edition of the blue brand. With several championship matches scheduled and major rivalries heating up ahead of Crown Jewel, fans will witness some shocking moments before the night is over.
Dubbed Danhausen’s Very Nice, Very Evil Smackdown, the October 30 episode will feature Sami Zayn defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Trick Williams; Chelsea Green will also put her WWE Women’s Championship on the line against Nikki Bella, while Rey Fenix will defend the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship against Ricky Saints.
Thanks for the submission!
However, the action might not be limited to the advertised matches. Several major WWE Superstars, including Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Tiffany Stratton, and Damian Priest, are also advertised for this week’s SmackDown.
With the Money in the Bank briefcase potentially playing a major role and some personal rivalries threatening to boil over, here are five potential endings to WWE SmackDown tonight.
#5. Sami Zayn could beat Trick Williams clean, but Penta teases a cash-in
Sami Zayn has a huge challenge ahead of him as he prepares to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Trick Williams. The champion recently escaped with his title against Je’Von Evans on RAW, but his next challenger could make it even tougher.
Williams has already shown that he can get the better of the champ. He also pinned the champion’s team during the six-man tag team match on last week’s episode of SmackDown, giving him plenty of momentum heading into their title showdown.
However, Zayn could find a way to defeat Williams cleanly and retain his championship. This would allow WWE to keep him on track for his expected showdown with Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel. But the celebration might not last long.
Señor Dinero en el Banco Penta could make his presence felt after the match and tease cashing in his Money in the Bank contract. The masked superstar has been waiting for the right opportunity, and targeting an exhausted Zayn would make perfect sense.
#4. Damian Priest could cost Trick Williams the championship match
Another possible ending could see Damian Priest play a major role in the Undisputed WWE Championship match.
Trick Williams has been building momentum, and defeating Sami Zayn would be a huge career achievement. However, his championship dreams could be ruined by an unexpected appearance from The Archer of Infamy.
Priest could interfere during the match and cost Williams his opportunity to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion. Whether he attacks Williams directly or creates a distraction that allows Zayn to pick up the victory, the result could leave the challenger furious.
This would also allow WWE to start a new rivalry between Priest and Williams. The latter would have every reason to go after the former World Heavyweight Champion, especially if his interference cost him the biggest victory of his career.
#3. Tiffany Stratton could cash in on either Chelsea Green or Nikki Bella
Tiffany Stratton would be one of the biggest wildcards on SmackDown tonight.
The former WWE Women’s Champion is currently holding the Money in the Bank briefcase, which means she can challenge for a championship whenever she sees the right opportunity.
Chelsea Green will defend her WWE Women’s Championship against Nikki Bella, and either outcome could create an interesting situation for Tiffy.
If WWE’s Hot Mess retains, Tiffany could attack her after the match and cash in while the champion is still recovering from her title defense. Green has already had several tough Championship matches recently, so she could be vulnerable.
However, things could become even more interesting if Nikki Bella wins the championship.
Nikki has been looking to prove that she can still compete at the highest level. Winning the title would be a huge moment for the WWE Hall of Famer, but Stratton could cut her celebration short.
Imagine Nikki raising the championship in front of the crowd before Tiffany’s music hits. The MITB winner could rush to the ring, hand over her briefcase, and take advantage of a tired challenger.
#2. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton could get into a huge brawl again
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton could also provide one of the biggest moments of the night.
Their rivalry has gone nuclear, with both men having plenty of reasons to go at it over and over. Orton has already caused problems for Rhodes, including interfering during his match against Baron Corbin on the October 16 episode of SmackDown.
The American Nightmare eventually responded by punt-kicking Corbin in front of The Viper, showing that he was not willing to let Orton get away with his action. With the rivalry heading toward Crown Jewel, WWE could use this week’s SmackDown to turn up the intensity.
The two former buddies could have another heated confrontation before things quickly get physical. Rhodes might attempt to attack Orton, only for The Viper to respond with a vicious beatdown. Alternatively, Orton could strike first and leave Rhodes dazed after a brutal exchange. A massive brawl between the two former mates would add great weight and build excitement for their upcoming showdown.
#1. Kevin Owens and CM Punk could have another explosive confrontation on this week’s SmackDown
Another rivalry that could steal the spotlight on SmackDown is between Kevin Owens and CM Punk.
Both superstars have unfinished business, and WWE could use tonight’s episode to take their rivalry to the next level. With both men advertised for the show, a face-to-face confrontation would not be surprising.
Punk and KO have never been known to hold back when exchanging words. Their personalities and competitive nature will certainly make for an entertaining segment, but things could quickly turn ugly once the insults start flying.
Owens could interrupt Punk during a promo or accuse him of getting in his way. The Second City Saint might respond with harsh words of his own, eventually leading to a physical altercation. Things could get even crazier if both men refused to leave the ring. A massive brawl could break out, with security and WWE officials struggling to separate them.
This would be a great way to build anticipation for their next encounter. It could also give SmackDown one final chaotic moment before the show goes off the air.
