AEW star Jon Moxley has been leading Death Riders for the past couple of years. While Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia have made a significant impact in the Jacksonville-based promotion, one of the most important parts of the faction is Marina Shafir. From being an unknown name in the locker room, she has elevated herself to a new level. Marina might even set out to challenge AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Mone for the title, as the two have been confronting each other for multiple weeks.
Last year, the One True King teased recruiting one more female star in the Death Riders, Kris Statlander. The former AEW Women’s World Champion almost joined the group, as she had multiple confrontations with Moxley. In the end, she refused to join them. However, it seems like fate has brought them together for a match.
At Warrior Wrestling tonight, Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir were scheduled to team up for a match against Lance Archer and Tootie Lynn. For some reason, Marina wasn’t able to participate in the contest and therefore she was replaced by Kris Statlander.
Jon Moxley says the Death Riders are one man down
PAC passed away earlier this month, and many are still mourning his loss. A few weeks ago, Jon Moxley talked about how the Death Riders are one man short.
“We’ve been feeling a little lost. It’s been a long week. We are man down. Where does that leave us? Where are we? Stand still. The trees ahead, bushes beside you. You are not lost. Where you are is called the here. Now what we do? Every day is what we are gonna continue to do. Wrestle harder, fight harder, work harder than anybody else in this sport. You get a victory over us? It does mean a da*n thing. It just makes us better, and it just pi**es us off. Mark Davis, think you scored a bag by winning the big Continental Championship shot. We’re just getting started, brother. You are in the game now,” he said.
It will be interesting to see what is next for the former AEW World Champion.
