“Where is All Them LeBron James Washed Clips at Now?”: NBA World Bows Down to “King James” After Clutch Bucket Leads Sixers Past Knicks in NBA Cup

This post was originally published on this site.

LeBron James stole the spotlight on Friday as the Philadelphia 76ers opened their NBA Cup campaign with a 98-93 win over the New York Knicks. The 41-year-old came close to a triple-double and also recorded his first 20-point game in a Sixers uniform, giving fans plenty to rave about after another all-around performance.

Fans were particularly impressed with James’ production late in the game. He outscored the Knicks by himself over the final minute and a half, then capped off the night with a putback layup that pushed Philadelphia’s lead to five and effectively sealed the win.

LeBron James did far more than just score a season-high 20 points, adding nine rebounds, eight assists, and two combined steals and blocks. It was another reminder that even at 41, he can still impact the game in several different ways and come through when the Sixers need him most.

LeBron James praises 76ers organization after strong start

Nearly two weeks into the regular season, the Philadelphia 76ers already look comfortable with their new-look roster. With LeBron James and Jaylen Brown among the major additions, Philly has raced out to a 5-1 start and appears to be finding its rhythm quickly.

Before Friday’s clash against the New York Knicks, James spoke to Steve Nash on NBA on Prime about how positive his experience with the organization has been so far.

“So far, so great,” James said. “The organization is unbelievable. The players work hard. They come in with their hard hats on, ready to work.

“I’m still adjusting after spending eight years in LA and getting used to being back in the Midwest or East Coast. But I think every day, every week, and every month, I’ll continue to get better and better. My body will continue to ramp up, and the play will get better.”

LeBron James has settled into Philadelphia’s offense well, averaging 16.4 points per game. His scoring has understandably dipped in a more balanced setup, but he has still made a major impact elsewhere with 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game.
