The Philadelphia Eagles have lost five consecutive games to drop to 2-5 for the season. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni has faced backlash for their struggles over the last few weeks.
With the Eagles’ season hanging by a thread, Sirianni has been on the hot seat. However, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley said that Sirianni is still working hard, comparing him to legendary quarterback Eli Manning.
Thanks for the submission!
“I’ve been in situations where the season’s not going the way you want to go, and you don’t always get the same man every single time,” Barkley said. “I take pride in that. I feel like as players, whether I rush for 200 yards before I rush for one yard, the way I come and work the next day is important. It matters, and I’ve learned that when I was watching Eli Manning. He never changed. He’s always the same.

“And that’s why I had so much respect for a guy like Dexter Lawrence, like we had a lot of struggles over there, but we pride ourselves in having them come to work the next day. That’s the only way you’re going to prove that, that’s the only way you’re going to get better and Nick Sirianni is that.”

The Eagles have struggled with injuries this season. Barkley has also missed time due to a hamstring injury and missed practice earlier this week. However, he is expected to play against the Washington Commanders in Week 8.
Eagles running back Saquon Barkley revealed reason behind his return for Commanders game
Although Saquon Barkley is dealing with hamstring and back issues, the Eagles running back is adamant about playing against the Commanders as he doesn’t want to miss any “opportunity.”
“One day, I’m not going to be playing football,” Barkley said. “Whenever that is, I’m going to look back. I don’t want to look back and be like, ‘I could have given it a chance and I didn’t.’
“That’s kind of what I live by. So I try my best to just keep recovering, being smart, but I like playing football. If I have an opportunity to play, I’m going to try my best to play.”
