NBA fans clowned Ty Jerome‘s wife for humbling the Memphis Grizzlies star on social media.
Jerome has been playing outstanding basketball since the start of the 2026-27 season. On Monday, the 6-foot-5 guard had a team-high of 40 points in a 135-134 overtime loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. It’s the second 40-point game for the former Virginia guard of the regular season.
Thanks for the submission!
He has played six of the seven games for the Grizzlies this season, averaging a career-high of 28.2 points per game. Despite his impressive performance, however, Jerome was humbled by his wife, Marly Jerome, on TikTok, via Drew Hill.

Bill Simmons Likened Ty Jerome to Steve Nash
Ty Jerome has been the biggest surprise for the Grizzlies this season. His outstanding performances have led Memphis to capture a 6-1 record to start the regular season. After his 40-point game against the Pelicans, longtime basketball analyst Bill Simmons compared Jerome to former NBA star Steve Nash.
“Is Ty Jerome now 2005 Steve Nash and headed for back-to-back MVPs?” Simmons posted.
Despite the success and attention he has received early in the season, Ty Jerome isn’t taking all the credit. After posting 40 points, the starting guard spoke highly of the Grizzlies acquiring big man Isaiah Stewart over the summer.
“That’s who he is, man,” Jerome said. “He’s our leader. He’s a veteran presence. He’s been playing his a** off. That’s who he is, man. He’s an unbelievable pickup for us. When we signed him and we traded for him in the summer, I was super excited.”
“And I think he’s exceeded expectations on and off the court for us. So that’s just who he is. That’s who he’s going to be all year. I hope to be on his team for a long time.”
Stewart came off the bench with 14 points, five rebounds and two blocks. Despite their efforts, the Grizzlies suffered their first loss of the season. On Wednesday, Memphis returns to NBA action against the Indiana Pacers.
