NBA fans lost it online after the LA Lakers assigned guard Bronny James to the G League after nine games.
Through the first nine games, James has played five games, averaging 0.8 points on 66.7% shooting. The former USC guard is also averaging fewer minutes than in his first two seasons with the team. He’s averaging 2.4 minutes per game, a career low.
Thanks for the submission!

After the news that the Lakers sent James to the Coachella Valley Lakers (formerly the South Bay Lakers), fans reacted online.
“Your daddy a killer, but you ain’t,” a fan said.
“LeBron is not going to be pleased,” another fan commented.
“Didn’t they just say bro was a full-time player?” one fan said.
More fans lost it over the Lakers’ decision regarding Bronny James.
“I thought Bronny graduated the G League 😭😭😭,” someone commented.
“Why don’t they just cut him. How much development does a player need?” a comment read.
“Year 3 and he’s still getting sent down to the G League and getting 0 rotation minutes. Why in the world did the Lakers guarantee his contract before free agency?” one fan commented.
In the first two years of his NBA career, LeBron James’ son has been assigned to the G League multiple times. He has averaged 11.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists over two seasons.
Former Lakers Center Kwame Brown Blasts Bronny James
After the five games Bronny James has played in the 2026-27 NBA season, former Lakers center Kwame Brown called him out. The former No. 1 pick questioned whether he deserves a roster spot.
Brown went on a rant about it on his YouTube channel.
“It’s mind-blowing how somebody lost a job to that,” he said. “Some kid who worked their butt off, who really felt like they could have made the NBA, they lost their job to that.”
“And the only reason why everybody’s okay with it is because of his father. That’s a shame what we actually are seeing. Call it hate, call it whatever you want. To me, it’s a shame.”
Before the season started, the Lakers decided to keep Bronny and Jaden Hardy, waiving Dalton Knecht. Although Knecht underperformed last season, he has consistently been a better player than James. Fortunately for the former No. 17 pick, he signed a two-way contract with the New York Knicks and their G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks.
The Lakers remain committed to Bronny James after retaining him on the roster past the contract guarantee deadline in June.
