NFL analyst Rob Parker believes Lamar Jackson deserves considerably more respect than he does.
On Saturday’s episode of “The Odd Couple,” Parker argued that Jackson’s accomplishments already compare favorably with those of seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.
Thanks for the submission!
Jackson already has three First-Team All-Pro selections, compared to Brady’s three First-Team All-Pro honors across 23 NFL seasons.

“The best quarterback in the National Football League is Lamar Jackson,” Parker said. “How many All-Pros does Tom Brady have? Tom Brady had three All-Pros. Three in 23. Lamar has three already. Two-thirds less time. He already has three.”

The analyst also argued that Jackson should have won three MVP awards instead of two, specifically questioning the 2024 voting outcome. Jackson finished second to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen despite earning First-Team All-Pro honors.
“He should have three MVPs,” Parker said. “The best year he had in the National Football League didn’t give him the MVP. They gave him First-Team All-Pro, but they gave Josh Allen because they felt sorry for him the MVP. Went against everything that we know in the National Football League. It was terrible.”
In the 2024 season, Jackson threw for 4,172 yards and 41 touchdowns with just four interceptions, along with 915 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. Allen ultimately won MVP with 383 voting points, narrowly ahead of Jackson’s 362.
Parker defended Jackson against criticism of his postseason performances. He referred to Zay Flowers’ fumble, Mark Andrews’ dropped two-point conversion against Buffalo and Baltimore’s defensive struggles.
“Has he been perfect? H*ll no. It is the most disappointing team I’ve ever seen. There’s always something you point to,” Parker said,
He also recalled Hall of Fame executive Bill Polian suggesting Jackson should switch to wide receiver before the 2018 NFL Draft.
Lamar Jackson says he ‘won’t be a statue’ in Week 8 return against Bills
Lamar Jackson is set to return for the Baltimore Ravens‘ Week 8 matchup against the Buffalo Bills after missing three games with a high ankle sprain.
The two-time MVP completed all three practices this week but admitted his left ankle is not completely healed.
“I feel like I’m no longer a statue. I’m able to move around a little better, so I can give it a shot,” Jackson told reporters Friday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Baltimore went 1-2 without Jackson, losing consecutive games to the Browns and Bengals. Before his injury, Jackson recorded 967 passing yards, six touchdowns, and 144 rushing yards over four games.
