Before facing Kevin Owens on the November 6 episode of SmackDown, CM Punk is set for a major championship match, as announced in the closing moments of NXT Halloween Havoc 2026.
The Second City Saint and The Prizefighter will settle their issues in the ring on the go-home episode of SmackDown before Crown Jewel. Before that, CM Punk is set to challenge Grayson Waller for the NXT Championship on the November 4 episode of NXT.

In the main event of Halloween Havoc 2026, Grayson Waller defended the NXT Title against Tony D’Angelo. Waller won the title from D’Angelo at Heatwave in a Fatal Four-Way Match that also involved Cruz Montana and Zilla Fatu. The former Don finally received his one-on-one rematch against Waller at Halloween Havoc.
D’Angelo’s family was in attendance to witness him try to recapture the NXT Championship. The two NXT 2.0 originals put on a back-and-forth match in the main event.
Waller repeatedly taunted D’Angelo’s wife and son in the crowd, which fired up the former Don. However, the Australian star kept finding ways to get the better of D’Angelo. The ending sequence of the match saw the official getting knocked out, allowing Waller to strike D’Angelo with a crowbar before hitting his finisher to retain the title.
The Australian’s celebrations were cut short by the host of the night, Danhausen, who revealed that his “friend” had a special message for the NXT Champion. CM Punk appeared on the titantron and announced that he will be challenging Waller for the title on the November 4 episode of NXT.
It will be interesting to see whether CM Punk can win the NXT Title for the first time in his career.
