After The John Cena Classic, WWE has announced a major two-day event in partnership with The Walt Disney Company. The promotion will take over ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Florida, on December 14 and 15.
As announced on the November 2 episode of RAW, the first-ever John Cena Classic will take place on December 14. Top stars from RAW and SmackDown will face some of NXT’s biggest talents. Moreover, fans will get to vote for the best performer of the night through the company’s new Club WWE membership program.
Thanks for the submission!
The winner will receive a special honor at the end of the event. The John Cena Classic will air live on Netflix as a special edition of Monday Night RAW.
The Stamford-based promotion will follow that up with a special edition of Worlds Collide on December 15. The show will be inspired by Marvel Studios’ upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday, and feature stars from RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and AAA.
The event will take place just three days before Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18. Moreover, the two-day celebration will include WWE World, which will be an immersive fan experience organized by the global juggernaut and Fanatics.
Tickets for both events will be available through a two-day combo package. The general presale begins on November 12, followed by the public sale on November 13.
Former Undisputed WWE Champion is the first invitee to The John Cena Classic
During his appearance on the November 2 episode of RAW, Cena also announced the first invitee to The John Cena Classic. The Franchise Player hyped everyone up before the reveal, and it turned out to be none other than the former Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes.
The American Nightmare and The Cenation Leader shared a heartfelt moment in the ring before embracing. They were interrupted by Randy Orton, who made his way to the ring as Cena headed out.
Orton then cut a scathing promo, reminding Rhodes that he had retired Cody’s father, Dusty Rhodes. The two men are set to collide in a Last Man Standing Match at Crown Jewel.
