CM Punk was involved in a few relationships in WWE before eventually marrying AJ Lee in 2014. The Best in the World was popular among ladies backstage, and a female star has recently revealed that she once tried to hook up with the former World Heavyweight Champion.
Shelly Martinez was part of WWE from 2005 to 2007. She joined the company’s developmental, Ohio Valley Wrestling, in July 2005, and was Punk’s colleague on the brand. The duo were also together in ECW for a year before Martinez was released from her contract.

Shelly recently reposted an old picture with CM Punk, where she had noted that Punk will always have a special place in her heart. In the post, the female star also made it clear that the two didn’t date or hook up. While reposting, Martinez added that she did try to hook up with the Best in the World on the night the picture was taken.

Shelly Martinez recently made a claim that Maria Kanellis was trying to steal her boyfriend while she was in a relationship with CM Punk around 2005. The former WWE star noted that she would have been open to a boyfriend swap with Kanellis, as she wanted to date the Best in the World
“Dude, if she wants to swap, I’d rather be with Punk. Like, I want Punk. So if she wants my boyfriend, why don’t you take him so I can have Punk? And it didn’t make sense to me that she was doing that when it was the beginning phases of her and Punk because you have Punk, and I want him, right?”
Martinez was active inside the squared circle for almost a decade after leaving WWE in 2007. She retired from in-ring competition in 2017. The 46-year-old has stated on multiple occasions that she always had a crush on CM Punk. However, she also stated that she’s glad the two never hooked up or dated, as she later got involved with one of Punk’s close friends.
