A female superstar has admitted to being left “super” frustrated in WWE. Stars often have issues over their booking and placement on the card, believing they deserve better opportunities.
Current NXT Women’s champion Kelani Jordan has been with WWE since 2022 and has been a huge part of the brand’s women’s division. Jordan was also the first-ever NXT Women’s North American champion.
Thanks for the submission!
Despite her success on the developmental brand, she only got her hands on the NXT Women’s championship this year. During a recent appearance on The Wrestling Classic, Jordan opened up about being overlooked, as she waited for her turn patiently.
She said she watched other women get opportunities, and she had to wait for her shot at the NXT Women’s title. The 28-year-old WWE star mentioned that her happy-go-lucky persona may have contributed to her not being taken seriously.
Jordan said that she was tired of always portraying the dark horse and underdog in her matches.
“I was like, ‘I’m tired of being an underdog. Like I know what I bring to the table. I just think I need to change something.’ And that’s when I changed, like, you know, no more happy-go-lucky,” she said.
Kelani Jordan said she grew frustrated with the fact that she never even got an NXT championship title shot.
“It was super frustrating, and I’m like, ‘I’ve literally done all of this, and it’s almost like I was patiently waiting my turn.’ And that’s when I realized, ‘Okay, there’s no more being nice and waiting in line because that’s how you get passed by.’ So, it was very annoying and very frustrating when I never got a chance for the NXT Women’s championship,” she said.
Kelani Jordan set for NXT Women’s Title defense against 31-year-old WWE star
A few weeks ago on NXT, a 20-woman battle royal was held to determine the next challenger for Kelani Jordan’s NXT Women’s championship.
The match included stars from WWE’s main roster, NXT, TNA, and AAA. Toward the end of the match, Kali Armstrong eliminated Lizzy Rain and believed that she won the match.
However, suspended Wren Sinclair, disguised as AAA’s Lady Shani, entered the ring and threw Armstrong over the top rope to become the No. 1 contender. After the match, Sinclair removed her mask to reveal that it was she who competed as Lady Shani in the match.
Wren Sinclair will now challenge Kelani Jordan for the NXT Women’s championship at Halloween Havoc on October 31.
