This week, Jahmyr Gibbs proved that he takes Halloween very seriously. On Wednesday, the Detroit Lions running back was a guest on “The Pat McAfee Show” and shared some details about his costume for the Lions’ annual Halloween party.
He revealed that he chose to dress up as Michael Jackson this year.
Thanks for the submission!
“I was Michael Jackson at the Grammy Awards for Halloween this year,” Gibbs stated.

“I planned this for about four months, you have to order all of the stuff and it takes a while to get here,” Gibbs explained.
The Detroit Lions running back then confirmed that teammate, Aidan Hutchinson, was the host of this year’s Halloween party.
Gibbs said, “Hutch, it was his first time too, first time hosting…it was a good crowd.”
The Detroit Lions celebrate Halloween each year with a team party and each player takes a turn hosting the event.
Jahmyr Gibbs’ penalty celebration turned into viral moment
On Sunday, Jahmyr Gibbs and the Detroit Lions defeated their division rival, the Green Bay Packers 20-17. During the game, the Packers’ defense jumped on a third and five, allowing the Lions to get a fresh set of downs to work with.
Jahmyr Gibbs jumped and began kicking his legs in celebration while pointing at the Packers defense. Some of his teammates jumped into the celebration as well, causing a clip of the moment to quickly go viral on social media.
The Detroit Lions are 4-2 so far this season as they look to redeem themselves after missing the playoffs in 2025.
