Renee Paquette works for All Elite Wrestling as the on-screen interviewer and part of the broadcast team. She is an integral part of the company’s programming, and many fans enjoy watching her contributions. But recently, a major AEW name expressed his resentment about being left off the AEW roster page, while Paquette is present on it.
The man of the hour is RJ City. The 38-year-old has been signed with All Elite Wrestling since 2023. He works as a writer and an on-screen interviewer for the company. Besides, he also hosts talk shows for the Jacksonville-based promotion on social media. However, fans noticed that he is absent from the AEW active roster page on its official website.
Speaking on Channel Changelings, RJ City questioned why he is not present on the AEW roster page. He said that he has been part of the broadcast team for a long time. However, Renee Paquette got herself on the roster page instead of him. City even highlighted how All Elite Wrestling gave her a spotlight when she got signed. Meanwhile, he never got such a moment despite working so hard for the company.
“Why I’m not on the [AEW] roster page, even under the broadcast team section, is beyond me. I broadcast longer than Renee, more consistently than Renee and they rolled her out when she was in Toronto,” said City.
All these comments were a part of a light-hearted conversation. There is no bad blood between Renee Paquette and RJ City. That said, Paquette was signed by All Elite Wrestling in 2022. She made her debut in October that year on an episode of Dynamite in Toronto, Canada.
Renee Paquette made some bold comments about RJ City
Renee Paquette and RJ City are part of AEW’s broadcast team. They often share the screen together for AEW’s pre-shows and pay-per-view post-shows. In April this year, Paquette made some serious comments about City’s presence in her life.
Speaking on Who Is? Paquette revealed how RJ City pings her up in the morning every day with text messages about work. She called the 38-year-old a serious pain at work.
“RJ City can eat s*it. Yeah, RJ’s a pain in my a**. I’ve never met a more neurotic person in my entire life. It’s great in the sense that he keeps everybody on their toes and he makes things come together and happen. But like, brother, you don’t have to text me this at seven o’clock in the morning. We’re gonna get to it. Yes, I have a child. Yes, I get up early. But like, you gotta give a little window. It’s insane to wake up with these texts and things, files that I need to open and things I need to look at, like, give us all a minute. F*ck off, RJ,” said Paquette.
These statements were also part of Renee’s character in All Elite Wrestling. Back in April, these words made the rounds on the internet among the fans. It shows the love-hate bond between the two stars in Tony Khan‘s company.
