Major star is still a part of AEW despite contract expiry, reveals former partner

A former AEW star commented on his ex-tag partner’s status with the Jacksonville-based promotion, revealing that his partner remains with the company.

The AEW tag team division is often regarded as one of the most talent-stacked in wrestling. One team that helped earn the division its reputation was the Acclaimed. Formed by ex-AEW star Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, the duo dominated the company from 2022 to 2024, becoming Tag Team Champions and World Trios Champions with Billy Gunn. However, the Acclaimed disbanded in January 2025, and over a year and a half later, Caster left AEW after his contract expired in October 2026.

Interestingly, Bowens was also reported to be out of contract this month, along with Caster, but the Jacksonville-based promotion never confirmed his departure, nor did he. Notably, Pride of Professional Wrestling hasn’t appeared on programming since the September 30 edition of Dynamite. Regardless, Max Caster recently revealed during a virtual signing with K&S Wrestlefest that Bowens is still part of All Elite Wrestling.

“He’s still there. I don’t wanna speak for him too much but he still works there,” said Caster. [H/T: Fightful]

Max Caster shouts out AEW President Tony Khan

During the same virtual signing with K & S WrestleFest, the self-proclaimed ‘Best Wrestler Alive’ gave major props to his former boss, Tony Khan, for how he supports wrestlers financially, revealing that he is still living off the money he earned during his time at the Jacksonville-based promotion.

“I always gotta shout out Tony Khan, because he’s supporting a lot of wrestlers’ living right now… including me. I’m still living off [All Elite Wrestling] money… That’s a guy who, for whatever reason in his heart, is supporting wrestling and supporting wrestlers,” Caster said. [H/T: Fightful]

Max Caster has had tough times since leaving All Elite Wrestling, controversially parting ways with his new employer, TNA, just days after appearing at Bound For Glory. At 37, the veteran still has some good years left in his wrestling career. However, he recently announced time off from wrestling, so only time will tell what the future holds for him.
