Multi-time former AEW champion MJF has been missing from the Tony Khan-led promotion since this past August. The self-proclaimed “generational talent” recently popped up at an event relating to one of his latest projects outside of the squared circle.
The last time he was seen in action in All Elite Wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman competed in this year’s All In Men’s Casino Gauntlet match in London, England this past August. Unfortunately, Big Hebrew could not secure the guaranteed AEW Men’s World Title Match contract that he wanted, as Andrade El Idolo stole the victory from him in the closing moments of the bout. In a fiery post-match promo after his loss at Wembley, the former World Champion once again blamed Will Ospreay for his setback against Kenny Omega this past July.
MJF vowed to take his revenge on the Aerial Assassin upon returning to AEW, although he has been missing from the company’s programming since All In: London. While All Elite Wrestling fans are keenly awaiting the Salt of the Earth’s comeback, the latter recently popped up at what appears to be an advanced screening event for Violent Night 2, the upcoming Tommy Wirkola-directed action comedy starring David Harbour, Kristen Bell, Jared Harris and others, including Friedman himself.
Taking to his Instagram profile over an hour ago, MJF furthermore promoted his upcoming movie, which is set to release on December 4.
“Don’t forget to fill your stockings with tickets for @universalpictures @87northaction big holiday movie that has all your classic Christmas tropes! Mistletoe, boughs of holly, an intense amount of unadulterated action-packed heart-pumping gore-filled fun, and of course (most importantly) a whole lotta me 😃 🎄 @violentnight 2 is coming to a theater near you! December 4th.”- wrote Friedman in the caption.
MJF has a huge bout scheduled in AEW’s partner promotion
Last month, Maxwell Jacob Friedman issued a surprise challenge to 2026 G1 Climax winner Ryohei Oiwa, inviting the latter to face him in a match for his “Triple B”. Earlier this week at NJPW Power Struggle, the Wolf of Wrestling called out “the Grip” yet again, offering to lock horns with him at Wrestle Kingdom 21 in January next year.
It remains to be seen whether MJF will be able to defeat the TMDK member in the Tokyo Dome.
