“Patrick Mahomes is a bottom-10 QB”: Dan Orlovsky makes outrageous claim about Chiefs $504,750,000 star amid Garrett Wilson trade talks

The Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first defeat of the season after a damaging 20-3 loss against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, on Sunday.

The Chiefs’ offense struggled with quarterback Patrick Mahomes throwing for 165 yards with an interception. Following the game, NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky claimed on ESPN’s “Get Up” that Mahomes, who is on a $504,750,000 contract, is a “bottom-10 QB” because of his receiver options in 2026.

Thanks for the submission!

“When it comes to throwing the ball to a wide receiver, right now, Patrick’s a bottom-10 QB,” Orlovsky said. “And that’s not a Patrick thing. That’s a receiver thing.

“So, one, can you go get, and this is more of a you question. Is Brian Thomas Jr. an option? Is Garrett Wilson an option? I think it would be bad for the Jets to trade him. Is George Pickens an option? Like, I know this is outrageous, but if you’re the Chiefs, you’re not good enough.”

Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III, who averaged a league-leading 133 yards per game before Sunday’s game, was restricted to just 36 yards on 14 carries.

The Chiefs have been mentioned as one of the potential landing spots for New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson at the Nov. 10 deadline.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid acknowledged their offensive struggles against Seattle

The Chiefs offense managed just 213 total yards compared to the Seahawks’ 410 on Sunday. Chiefs coach Andy Reid admitted his team’s offensive struggles against Seattle and took responsibility for their first loss of the season.

“Listen, all three phases we struggled, so we’ve got to do better, and that’s my responsibility,” Reid said. “So I take full responsibility for this. We’ve got to play better as a team.”

Following their first loss after five consecutive wins to start the season, the Chiefs are on the road to play the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
