“Same story”: Derrick Henry expresses disappointment as Ravens continue losing streak after Jaguars’ win on TNF

The Baltimore Ravens dropped to 4-5 for the season after a 33-10 defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night. Derrick Henry summed up the Ravens’ fourth consecutive defeat with his blunt remark after the game.

Henry finished with 57 yards on 17 carries, and for long stretches he was the closest thing the Ravens had to a quarterback as Ravens offensive coordinator Declan Doyle put Henry in the Wildcat formation for 10 direct snaps.

Thanks for the submission!

“Wasn’t good enough. We got to be better. They were a better team. Same story. I don’t have the magical answer.”

The slide began with a 13-10 loss to Cleveland, continued with a 35-13 defeat by Cincinnati and a 36-10 loss at Buffalo. Jacksonville, now 6-2, led 17-3 at halftime and 33-3 before Justice Hill broke a 65-yard touchdown run with 7:15 left.

Henry’s 57 yards moved him into seventh place on the NFL’s all-time rushing list, past Jerome Bettis and LaDainian Tomlinson.

The Ravens strengthened their injury-riddled quarterback room by finalizing a trade for quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Henry welcomed the addition of the veteran quarterback.

“We need all hands on deck,” Henry said. “I feel like he can come in and help us. We’ll be excited to have him, and we’ll see where it goes.”

Ravens star Derrick Henry linked with a trade away from Baltimore amid losing skid

Derrick Henry‘s name landed in the rumor mill because of the Ravens’ struggles over the last few weeks. ESPN’s Dan Graziano listed him among the running backs to watch before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline. Baltimore is last in the AFC North, and Henry’s $12 million salary for 2027 carries no guarantees.

However, Henry rejected questions about his potential trade.

“I have not mentioned me going anywhere else,” Henry said. “I’m saying, ‘Let’s go back to work. Let’s try to get better and turn this thing around.’”

NFL analyst James Palmer reported that Baltimore does not intend to move him. Tuesday’s deadline will decide whether that holds.
