A female ex-WWE star recently commented on a potential Hall of Fame induction. The star in question has had two runs in the global juggernaut.
Eva Marie’s first tenure with the Stamford-based promotion lasted from 2013 to 2017. It was best known for her time as a cast member of Total Divas. Marie returned to the Stamford-based promotion in 2021 and was involved in a storyline with Piper Niven, who went by the name Doudrop. The 42-year-old star was released from the company later that year.
Thanks for the submission!
Speaking with TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Eva Marie discussed the idea of a potential WWE Hall of Fame induction. The former All Red Everything stated that while she had made an impact on the women’s division, she did not feel her body of work was enough to earn a Hall of Fame induction.
“I mean, I definitely couldn’t take myself that far. I have so much respect for the business, and I don’t feel like I’ve done enough body of work to consider myself a Hall of Famer. Do I think that I made an impact? Sure. Especially because nothing like Total Divas was able to…I feel like it merged a different demographic. There have been so many people that I had met in person that were like, ‘Oh my God! I love Total Divas because now my girlfriend actually watches Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown,’ and it really showcased what a WWE Diva embodies, from managing to trying to create this character, trying to be on the road, trying to have a family life, trying to create businesses, and that wasn’t shown before. And plus, you have the Attitude Era, and it highlighted the Divas in a different light, where it also kind of transitioned that kind of era as well in real-time giving the girls a lot more credibility, and now these girls can f**king b*ng too. And I think, like having an impact, sure, but like actually being inducted into the Hall of Fame- that’s a bit of a stretch,” Eva said.
Eva Marie was surprised by her WWE release
In the same conversation, Eva Marie revealed that she was taken aback by her WWE release, as it came out of the blue.
“Not at all. That was just like super out of the blue. There was so much happening too with like, changing of hands, lawsuits, and stuff like that. So that one, I was supposed to… my contract was definitely not over, and it was supposed to be a lot longer, and it was supposed to go into, like, WrestleMania and stuff like that. So, that one, for me, for sure took me by surprise because that’s not what we had talked about. But then at the end of the day, that’s how WWE rolls,” Marie said.
Eva Marie has stayed away from the ring after leaving WWE.
