This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown was pre-taped as the talent were travelling to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event. One of the marquee matches on the taped episode was a one-on-one matchup between a current champion and a former United States Champion. The two stars are Tama Tonga and Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura managed to hand Tama Tonga his first pinfall loss in over three months.
For several weeks, MFT and Bakusai have been feuding with each other. On this week’s episode of SmackDown, Nakamura and Tonga had a hard-hitting battle. Both stars did not waste any time; as soon as the bell rang, both stars began exchanging punches. Tonga seemed to have the upper hand. The WWE Tag Team Champion did get some help from his tag team partner at times. At one point in the match, Talla Tonga looked to distract Shinsuke Nakamura. But Kyoki spoiled Tonga’s plans. He took out Talla Tonga, and Nakamura capitalized on the distraction by hitting Tama Tonga with the Kinshasa and got the win.
Thanks for the submission!
The last time one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions lost a one-on-one match was back in August against Finn Balor on an episode of SmackDown.
