WNBA fans went wild online after Golden State Valkyries center Aminata Gueye posted a sneak diss on Angel Reese via Instagram.
Gueye and Reese had an intense rivalry during the WNBA Finals. It started in Game 2 when both players started jawing at each other. The former LSU star was taking her free throws when Gueye talked trash. The Atlanta Dream star clapped back and said this:
“You can’t f**k with me. Bum a**,” Reese said.
In the next play, she blocked Gueye’s layup attempt.
In Game 3, the trash-talking did not stop. Before the Dream secured the 97-71 win, Reese kept talking trash to the opposing player from the bench.
“You a bum!” Reese repeated multiple times.
After talking trash, she did the “too little” gesture.
The French player had the last laugh when the Valkyries won the title. Gueye also trolled Reese by posting a screenshot of her Game 3 gesture on Instagram on Sunday.
“THANK YOU @valkyries, I’M GRATEFUL FOR LIFE .💜,” she wrote. “ps: last slide is how much I care about ALL the sh*t ppl been talking. #bumwithaRING 😘”
After seeing her troll Reese on social media, fans went wild online.
“Trolling Angel Reese hard,” a fan said.
“KARMA,” another fan commented.
“As a Georgia girl, the Dream-particularly Angel, Howard, and Hillman-deserve this insult. Their behavior was abominable,” one fan said.
More fans reacted to Aminata Gueye trolling Angel Reese.
“Angel Reese had to know this was coming today,” someone commented.
“Lmaooo this made me giggle,” a comment read.
“Angel gone have her day, but lol they on her head 😂😂😂,” one fan commented.
Dave Portnoy Had Something to Say to Angel Reese
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy took a shot at Angel Reese after the Dream lost to the Valkyries in the WNBA Finals. Portnoy posted a video of Reese that compiled her missed shots during the seven-game series.
“Yoooo… who made this video? 😂😂😂,” Portnoy posted. “Angel 0-1 lifetime in WNBA Finals.”
In the do-or-die Game 7, Reese finished with eight points, 12 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks. The Dream star also shot 42.9% from the field. However, that was just a small sample size of how she performed for Atlanta. The three-time All-Star performed well throughout the Finals.
In her Finals debut, Reese finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds and two steals on 45.5% shooting. She followed that up with a 30-point performance in Game 2, adding 16 rebounds and two blocks. The Dream star had 21 points, 12 rebounds and three steals in Game 3.
However, in Games 4 and 5, Angel Reese only scored 15 points and shot 20.0% from the field.
