WWE Crown Jewel 2026 is on the horizon, and the card is locked in.
Triple H has so far confirmed as many as four blockbuster matches for the upcoming premium live event in Saudi Arabia. The wrestling rumor mill has continued to churn out reports.
Thanks for the submission!
Most of this week’s talk has been about canceled plans for Crown Jewel.
Without further ado, let’s delve into two reports we hope are true and two we hope aren’t.
1. Hope it’s true: Paul Heyman is coming back
The Oracle has not been on television since the October 12 episode of RAW after Money in the Bank. That night, Oba Femi told him he was not a “Paul Heyman Guy.” Neither The Ruler nor The Oracle has since been seen on television.
WrestleVotes reported on Fightful Select that there is “a working creative idea that would see Paul Heyman return to television relatively soon.”
The Hall of Famer is expected to branch into other programs, while staying connected to Bron Breakker and The Vision.
That is the version worth wanting. Heyman is at his best with someone to sell and a story to steer.
A fresh client, or a new rivalry built around Breakker, gives WWE a reason to keep him on screen every Monday instead of in occasional backstage cameos.
2. Hope it’s not true: Gunther vs. Finn Balor is off WWE Crown Jewel Card
Posters from the abandoned Riyadh Season Stadium site put Balor and Gunther next to each other, leaving fans wondering whether a singles match is planned for the Crown Jewel premium live event.
Dave Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Balor vs. Gunther was previously on the original lineup for the show, but WWE never announced it.
Finn Balor brought The Demon back on the October 30 SmackDown, brawling with Gunther and hitting a Coup de Grâce off a ladder through the announce table, and WrestleVotes said the persona returned to build “a program and an official match with GUNTHER.”
Working a five-match card at a premium live event is not a heavy lift for either man, and this feud has run for months without a singles match. A card this thin can use it to hype up the marquee show.
With one more SmackDown episode left before Crown Jewel, it is possible that Nick Aldis will make things official between the two.
3. Hope it’s true: Oba Femi’s Crown Jewel match scrapped
Dave Meltzer reported that the company originally planned a six-man tag at Crown Jewel, pitting Oba Femi, Penta and Je’Von Evans against Bron Breakker, Austin Theory and Bronson Reed, before switching to the tag title match.
The Ruler has been off RAW since October 12 despite being healthy, and the reported long game is a WrestleMania 43 program with Roman Reigns.
Canceling was the right call since Oba Femi has been stuck in the Vision vortex for quite some time. A six-man on a four-match show would have spent Femi’s momentum on a bout with nothing riding on it.
Holding him until WWE is ready to build Reigns vs. Femi protects the biggest match the company has in store. WWE should bring him back when they have something meaningful planned for him.
4. Hope it’s not true: Sami Zayn set to beat Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel 2026
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Radio that they expect WWE to book Zayn to win the men’s Crown Jewel Championship. The Last Real Good Guy dropped The OTC with a Helluva Kick to stand tall on the November 2 RAW before Crown Jewel.
Reigns has been unbeaten since late last year, and losing to Zayn serves no purpose, especially when Triple H is building him an unclimbable mountain for Oba Femi to climb at WrestleMania 43.
A loss for Zayn costs nothing, because the Undisputed WWE Championship is not on the line either.
