Chelsea are prepared to step up their pursuit of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott ahead of the winter transfer window.

The Blues explored signing a marquee midfielder last summer after sanctioning Enzo Fernandez‘s sale to Manchester City.

Monaco’s Lamine Camara was very close to making the switch on deadline day, but the French outfit changed their minds at the final hurdle.

The Blues are unlikely to return for the Senegalese this winter and instead have their sights on landing Scott from the Cherries.

Chelsea failed with a Â£68m bid for Scott during the summer transfer window, and are prepared to try again for his services in January.

Bournemouth are prepared to sell him with his contract expiring in June 2028. The midfielder has no intention of penning a new deal.

They value him in the region of Â£100m, but the Blues believe they can prise him away from the South Coast outfit for around Â£90m.

Scott also prefers to join the Blues ahead of Liverpool.
