Where to find Blaze in Phantom Blade Zero (Shadow Warden Captain and Phosphor Consciousness)
Blaze (Shadow Warden Captain, Phosphor Consciousness) can be found in the Pangzhen region as shown on the map. The closest bell is at South Gate Bridge, and this fight will occur along the path just after the bell and towards the beginning of the area.
From the South Gate Bridge bell, head toward the stairs and enter the central area of Pangzhen, known as the Town of Death. A cutscene plays there, and an NPC dies. Once the scene ends, the path leads straight to the boss.

How to beat Blaze in Phantom Blade Zero (Shadow Warden Captain and Phosphor Consciousness)
Beating Blaze in Phantom Blade Zero across both phases comes down to three things: managing his heavy hammer attacks, parrying his chains, and keeping burn and poison status effects under control.
Loadout
This is the suggested setup to beat Blaze in Phantom Blade Zero:
- White Serpent & Crimson Viper
- Outlaw Warblade
- Iron Gauntlets
- Dread Axe
- Simmering Brew
- Healing Gourd
- Arrowward
- Jewel’s Knot
- Mother’s Talisman
Phase 1: Blaze, Shadow Warden Captain

Blaze opens the fight right away with his Fire Meteor, a twin meteor hammer weapon. Learning the timing to block those first swings matters from the very first second.
Start by blocking his first attack, then parry the second attack in his combos to drain his Sha-Chi. This is the most reliable way to build pressure on him.
Watch for the red flash. When he is about to go lethal, it warns that something heavy is coming, such as his Blazing Slam. Retaliate instead of trying to block it, since it hits hard enough to take a big bite out of your health bar.
Also watch for green chains. When his meteor hammers glow green, that is the Entangle attack. Be ready to dodge sideways or backward – otherwise he pulls you in and chokes you with the chains.

At some point, he summons two warriors into the arena. Focus on taking down just one of them until an instant-kill button prompt appears. Pressing it triggers a cinematic finish that kills both enemies immediately. If Blaze’s health is already very low, skip the minions and push straight into Phase 2 by focusing on him.
Throughout the phase, use the different combos you have learned during the journey and hit him back-to-back to keep the pressure up.
There is one more move to know: When he spirals his chain weapon in a sideways whirlwind that ends in a leap with a burning spiked orb, hold block for the chain hits, then dodge right as he leaps. That triggers a cinematic stagger.
Phase 2: Blaze, Phosphor Consciousness

A cutscene plays after Phase 1, and then the second phase begins. Blaze is much more agile now, and he brings phosphor and poison attacks into the mix.
When he lowers his head and fires a straight-line phosphor blast, dodge backward or sideways, then punish him afterward. Watch the sky too. Circles or projectiles drop from above, and you have to get completely away from the falling circles. If you do not, you are dead.
If the chains catch you while he is charging at you, he holds you on his lap and spits phosphor flame at your head, which burns it and ends the run.
Blaze in Phantom Blade Zero also swings his chain hammers in a 360-degree whirlwind that must be dodged.

The best approach is to stay at mid to long range. That gives you enough reaction time to read his chain-throwing animations and his AoE ground smashes. When he leaps into the air or throws a circle pattern overhead, sprint or dodge fully away from the impact zone.
Once Blaze’s health gets low, a prompt appears to finish him. Press the dedicated button repeatedly to kill him, and the fight ends with a cutscene.
