Badrutt’s Palace, perched above Lake St. Moritz in Switzerland, is getting ready to reopen on 3 December. The palatial hotel, synonymous with alpine glamour, has undergone a series of renovations. The rooms and suites have been reimagined, fresh touches have been added to restaurant Matsuhisa and there’s a new bar in Le Grand Hall. The Palazzino Kids’ Club also has a new sparkle, with activities including sledging and even mocktail-making on offer – while the adults nip to the spa and its open-air heated swimming pool.
There is plenty to do in St. Moritz besides ski. Guests can embark on horse-drawn carriage rides from the front door of the hotel, crossing the frozen lake to a snow-covered forest; take a helicopter ride for views on the peaks, or hop aboard the Unesco-listed Bernina Express, which travels from St. Moritz to Tirano.
