Blockbuster announcement on popular star’s immediate future; but not in AEW!

A major announcement was made on social media regarding a popular duo by AEW legend Dustin Rhodes. The former TNT Champion hasn’t been seen in the Jacksonville-based promotion since July 2025. He underwent knee surgeries and seems to be recovering right now. Recently, the veteran reacted to an upcoming match between the Borden brothers.

Steven Borden has taken the world by storm since entering the pro wrestling world. He will even wrestle at Blood and Guts next week. Along with him, WWE Hall of Famer Sting’s second son, Garrett, has also entered the squared circle in the past few weeks. The two stars will team up together for the first time.

Recently, Rhodes Wrestling Association announced that Steven and Garrett Borden will wrestle the 8th Day in a tag team match at Fall Fury 2 on November 8th. Dustin Rhodes sent them a supportive message ahead of the show.

AEW star Darby Allin believes Steven Borden’s career was over

At AEW All Out, Steven Borden hurt his head on the mat during coast-to-coast to Kevin Knight. He was immediately rushed to the hospital.

On AEW Collision a few weeks ago, Darby Allin said Steven’s career was over after the contest. Turns out it wasn’t the case.

“Saturday night, I thought Steven Borden’s career was over. You gotta remember this is the guy who had a whole life before wrestling. He got a family, a career he just walked away from because he wanted to do this: pro wrestling. A really humbling experience to watch Steven get taken out on a stretcher. When he came to the hospital, the first thing he told me was that he is not quitting. He ain’t gotta stop. Those tag championships aren’t going anywhere. Then I thought about myself. What makes me feel most alive? Risking anything, that includes losing [TNT Championship]. Then I thought Kyle Fletcher. You never lost this. It was taken away from you when you were injured. But I wanna give you a chance to win it back. Grand Slam Paris. Darby Allin. Kyle Fletcher. I need to feel alive,” he said.

It will be interesting to see what is next for the Borden brothers.
