With the romance feature now available in Crimson Desert’s Charting the Unknown DLC, many of you may have set your eyes on Elowen, the Witch of Wisdom. She’s one of the first witches you’ll meet and is popular with the community. With the romance update, now’s your chance to make the move and bring her home as your wife.
That said, while it may sound simple, you need to earn Elowen’s trust before you can romance her. This article will help you do that, so you can ask her out on a date and eventually propose.
How to increase trust with Elowen and initiate romance in Crimson Desert
As mentioned before, to start your Elowen romance journey in Crimson Desert, you first need to gain her trust. To do that, you’ll need to have interesting conversations with her. Visit her hut near the Witchwoods Abyss Nexus fast travel point and start by greeting her. This will open new dialogue options, letting you chat, flirt, or give her gifts. Start by chatting with her.
Being the Witch of Wisdom, Elowen is always on the lookout to increase her knowledge, and what’s a better way to gain her trust than sharing your knowledge? Here’s what you need to do:
- The chat option opens bubbles you can select to talk about.
- As you unlock more entries, you can use them as conversation points.
- Talking about the right topic will give you +5 trust progress, but unfavorable topics only give +2.
- Another way to increase the meter is by giving her gifts. Like conversations, witches also have gift preferences.
- The cheapest gifts are Flower Pots, which you can get from the furniture vendor for +5 trust.
However, don’t flirt with her unless trust is 100. While it may seem like a good option, doing so will lower your trust rating. Furthermore, you can only use the Greet and Interact option once per in-game day, which is around two hours. Once you have enough trust to romance Elowen, you’ll see a new icon beside the trust rating.
Time-skip exploit in Crimson Desert to skip two-hour wait
Waiting two hours to chat with Elowen again is too much, and while you can skip time by sleeping, this option will only work once. However, you can use two side quests to fast-forward the in-game timer as many times as you want, as long as you haven’t finished them. These are:
- Wagon in the Skies (resets timer to 12 pm)
- A Dwarf’s Concern (resets timer to 9 pm)
Depending on the time, visit both to skip the day, and you’ll be able to chat with Elowen again. Repeat until you get a new icon beside the trust bar.

How to romance Elowen in Crimson Desert
After the string of small but meaningful conversations with Elowen, you’ll gain enough trust to use the Flirt option. This will trigger a short cutscene where you give her a bouquet of roses and replace the old trust icon with a new one. You’ll need to reach max progress again, but this time it’s for a proposal. Here’s what you need to do next:
- Along with chat or gift, you’ll also get the option to propose.
- Needless to say, don’t propose yet, as it will negatively affect your bond with the character.
- For now, just chat with her to progress the new trust bar.
Once you’re in the romance phase, you’ll learn more about Elowen. This option will open a completely new series of dialogue where you also take part. Choosing the right options will advance the relationship much faster. Here’s a step-by-step guide on what options to pick:
- Pick the ‘Get to know them’ option while interacting with Elowen in Crimson Desert.
- Let her speak, and then choose ‘Ask about Wisdom’.
- After talking, she’ll ask what Wisdom means to you. Pick ‘Empathy.’
- You’ll now have the chance to ‘Talk about emotions,’ where you’ll ask her if she wants to know something.
- Elowen will ask why people reject efficient paths; is it because of emotions?
- You’ll have three options. Choose ‘Talk of compassion’. It’ll grant you more trust progress.
Reaching trust 50+ will unlock a unique romance quest with Elowen in Crimson Desert. She’ll send you a letter saying your previous conversation with her was memorable, and she’d like to chat more. Meet Elowen at the Reventine Monastery in Demeniss. It’s a little left of the D of Demeniss on the map where three rivers meet.
Find Elowen near a cliff and interact with her to start a cutscene. After a walk, you’ll end up back at the same spot. There’s light flirting, but you’ll eventually ask her on a second date. This time, though, you’ll need to bring some fruit wine.
- Purchase 2 water, 1 sugar, and 2 apples from a vendor.
- Find a cauldron and put all ingredients inside to make fruit wine.
- Bring the wine to Elowen on the second date.
- Teleport to the Abyss Nexus near Elowen’s House. She’s on top of the cliff nearby.
Interact with Elowen once again to start another cutscene. After having a drink, you’ll be able to ‘Get to know her’ again, where you need to choose ‘Talk about last time.’ She’ll ask you how you feel about her. You’ll get three options, and the correct one is ‘Speak honestly,’ where you’ll almost propose, but she’ll ask you to wait.
After that, you only get one option: ‘Ask about gift’ (the bouquet you gave her at the beginning of flirting). She’ll ask about the wine instead, and you’ll answer, ‘To find out feelings’. This will take you to the final step: raising your bond with Elowen to 100. Use gifting and chatting with her to increase whatever progress is left on the trust bar.
Proposing and marrying Elowen in Crimson Desert
After reaching 100 trust again, you’ll get the option to confess feelings to Elowen. Now, she knows what the confession meant, but she’ll still ask. Like in classic movies, tell her to ‘Follow your heart’. This move will open up your path to a proposal, and she’ll say yes.
The scene will black out and load into a cutscene where you’ll marry Elowen. After that, you can ask her to travel together, and she’ll join you across all missions. Besides bosses, Elowen will also fight regular enemies alongside you, although don’t expect her to do the heavy lifting.
Lastly, if you want, you can also get divorced in Crimson Desert. Doing so will load a new cutscene where a lawyer will annul the marriage. Elowen will return to her house, and you can still interact with her normally. However, you won’t be able to flirt with her again, so weigh your options before you choose to break up.
