A top WWE veteran has spoken about working for Tony Khan and given him some advice. This comes following his recent departure from AEW and his move back to the Stamford-based promotion.
Jake “The Snake” Roberts was with All Elite Wrestling from 2020 to this year. He worked on-screen as a manager, as he worked with the likes of Lance Archer, and La Faccion Ingobernable. He has been less active as of late and finally left the company back in July this year.
During a recent interview with Nick Teodoro, Roberts confirmed that following his AEW departure, he had now re-joined WWE under a legends deal. He also spoke about the difference between working with both companies, but noted one area: creative booking. He advised Tony Khan to take a step back and let others handle parts of this, as he had talent that could be further utilized.
In the end, he expressed how he loved working with Khan and always wished the best for his former boss.
“There are a lot of differences. Creative, number one, no doubt. Tony Khan needs to loosen up the reins a little bit and take some advice. He’s got a good product. He’s got a lot of talent there. I think his talent can be used better. Just my own thoughts. I loved working for Tony Khan. They’ll wish you nothing but the best. He’s a sweet guy.” [H/T Fightful]
Jake Roberts appeared at a WWE-related event a few months ago
Before re-signing with the Stamford-based promotion, there were hints at Jake “The Snake” Roberts returning, as he appeared at an event managed by them a few months ago.
He was around during SummerSlam weekend, as part of a meet-and-greet event, where he also signed paraphernalia from fans. WWE posted about him on their official social media accounts, something they may not have been able to do if he was still All-Elite.
Seeing as the veteran is back with WWE, this does not automatically equate to him being on TV, as his legends deal may just involved him doing some work with the promotion, and possibly giving them a chance to use him for merchandising.
