Sami Zayn has opened up on his run in The Bloodline in WWE. Zayn joined the Roman Reigns-led faction in 2022 and had an eventful time with the group.
After initially joining as a periphery member, he was soon made into an Honorary Uce. Zayn continued to be a part of The Bloodline and even became a central focus at one point.
Thanks for the submission!
During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the Undisputed WWE Champion talked about his stint in the stable. Zayn said that his time in the group was filled with absurd moments on purpose, and it eventually evolved into something big.
“Well, that’s kind of what makes it work from the jump. That was in the conception of the idea; it’s so ridiculous, that’s part of the appeal of it. My intent in the beginning was more to be kind of like on the periphery, [but] it evolved, and that’s part of the beauty of it,” he said.
Sami Zayn said the reason he enjoyed his part so much was because that they had to adapt to the unexpected weekly developments, and it led to some memorable moments.
“When I say part of the skill set, part of why I loved it so much is the week-to-week adaptation. I had some ideas, and I had an overarching blueprint, which more or less kind of came to fruition, which starts here and ends in a championship match eventually down the road with Roman. That’s kind of the blueprint in your head, but some of the week-to-week stuff that you don’t account for, those are just gifts that fall into your lap,” he said.
Sami Zayn defended his Undisputed WWE Championship on RAW
Sami Zayn made an appearance in the opening segment of RAW to interrupt general manager Adam Pearce. The Underdog from the Underground cut a promo, putting himself over before Je’Von Evans came out to the ring.
An exchange between them led to Pearce announcing a match between them for the WWE Title.
The match was exciting and saw Evans go close to picking up a huge win. Toward the end of the match, Money in the Bank holder Penta made his way to the ring, and this distracted Zayn.
Bron Breakker then came out to attack Penta and was taken out by Evans after a dive to the outside. The Young OG went for a dive on Sami Zayn, but the WWE Champion was able to sidestep him.
Zayn delivered an exploder suplex into the turnbuckle and then a Helluva Kick to secure the win.
