Two of the more disappointing sides in the EFL Championship face off this weekend as Norwich City welcome Watford to Carrow Road on Saturday for matchday 13 of the 2026-27 Championship campaign. With 12 league games played, the sides are separated by just one point and sit narrowly above the relegation zone, leaving both desperate to turn their fortunes around sooner rather than later.
After an appalling six-game losing streak, Norwich picked up their fourth league win of the campaign with a 3-1 comeback victory over Charlton Athletic last weekend. The Canaries have now moved four points clear of the relegation zone and will be looking to build on that result in the coming weeks.
Thanks for the submission!
Head coach Philippe Clement did a remarkable job of guiding the Canaries from 23rd to a ninth-place finish last season but risks joining a long list of Norwich managers to have been sacked around the 12-month mark should his side continue to struggle.
Watford have gone through an even longer list of managers since dropping to the second tier four seasons ago, and Alessio Dionisi could become the latest to join that list after losing seven of his first 12 league games in charge.
The Hornets offered very little threat when they visited Molineux last weekend and were fortunate to suffer only a 1-0 defeat against Cesar Peixoto’s Wolverhampton side. However, they may take some encouragement from facing a fellow struggling side this weekend.

Norwich City vs Watford Prediction
Although both sides have struggled for results this season and boast similar squad quality, Norwich are favourites to come away with a win thanks to their home advantage.
Watford have picked up just one point from six away games in the Championship this season and will need to produce one of their better performances to avoid defeat on Saturday.
