Not With AEW Anymore: WWE Legend Confirms Return

This post was originally published on this site.

A major Legend has confirmed that he’s no longer with AEW and has officially returned to the Stamford-based company. The Legend in question is a former NWA United Kingdom Champion and is none other than Jake “the Snake” Roberts. He recently confirmed that he no longer works for Tony Khan’s promotion.

Jake Roberts is arguably one of the most legendary names in the world of professional wrestling who terrorised the ring while carrying a python in his neck. The Legend had two stints with the Stamford-based company as an active performer with the first taking place between 1986 and 1992 while the second one took place in 1996 and lasted nearly a year.

Roberts was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2014 and signed a Legends deal with the company which ended in 2019. AEW signed him that same year and his contract ran out recently. In a recent interview with Nick Teodoro, Jake revealed that he’s no longer with All Elite Wrestling and has rejoined the Entertainment Juggernaut.

It will be interesting to see what plans does Triple H have for a legend like Jake “the Snake” Roberts.

WWE Legend Jake Roberts highlighted the difference between Vince McMahon and AEW’s Tony Khan

Over the last decade, Jake “the Snake” Roberts has worked for both WWE and AEW. During his years as an active competitor, the Legend even worked under Vince McMahon’s creative leadership. In an interview with Gameshub, he highlighted the difference between the two bookers.

“Well, I think Khan has it in the way he treats talent. Vince was a great delegator. He would come up with the idea or use somebody else’s idea and spread it around to where everybody could work on it. Tony Khan doesn’t do that. He wants us to be all hands on him doing it, and a lot of times things get missed, no way one man came up with this stuff 24/7, seven days a week. You know, how many shows are they doing now? You know, that’s a lot of TV time,” Roberts said.

While Vince McMahon has been away from the professional wrestling world for a few years now, Tony Khan is currently thriving with AEW’s consistent performance.
