A popular WWE name is reportedly expected to retire from his position next year. He has been a part of the professional wrestling world for over five decades.
According to a recent report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE’s Executive Director – Creative Writing & Talent Bruce Prichard is expected to retire from his position following WrestleMania 43. It was further reported that despite retiring from his official duties, the veteran would remain connected to WWE on a consulting basis.
Thanks for the submission!
Bruce Prichard joined WWE in 1987 and worked as an announcer before debuting as Brother Love the following year. He was released from the company in 1991, reportedly due to personal and private issues, only to be rehired a year later.
Over a decade and a half later in 2008, Bruce Prichard was released from World Wrestling Entertainment one more time. Following his departure from the company, he worked with TNA Wrestling and MLW before returning to the Stamford-based promotion again in 2018, and he has been with the company ever since he officially signed with the company as a part of the creative team in 2019.
WWE veteran Bruce Prichard is set to undergo neck surgery
During the recent episode of 83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff, co-host Conrad Thompson answered a question from a fan about the whereabouts of Brue Prichard.
Thompson disclosed that Prichard had been dealing with a neck injury and was set to undergo surgery. He added that Prichard broke his neck when The Ultimate Warrior attacked him in 1991. However, he found out about it only recently.
“I don’t know that Bruce has revealed it, but Bruce has been dealing with a neck injury. It turns out that Bruce is going to have to have some surgery on that rascal, and he hadn’t been having the best quality of life recently. He’s on the mend, he’s doing rehab and all that jazz, but he’s hurting for certain. Do you remember way back when he was Brother Love and The Ultimate Warrior beat him up? He broke his neck, and he just found out recently. All these years later,” Bischoff said.
Bruce Prichard hasn’t shared any information about the surgery. The veteran is reportedly preparing for the upcoming procedure and undergoing mandatory rehab and physical therapy before going under the knife.
