“I’d ask my wife she makes all the decisions”- 4-time WWE Champion reveals whether he would join AEW or not

This post was originally published on this site.

A former WWE Champion gave some clarity regarding potentially joining AEW.

The aforementioned star is the former 4-time WWE World Champion, Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior was among the veterans with an accomplished career on the WWE roster until this year. He rejected a restructured deal from TKO and left the company upon his contract expiry in July.

Furthermore, Sheamus became a free agent in October, sparking speculation about a potential move to AEW. In fact, a report stated that many wrestlers in the Jacksonville-based promotion had pushed for his signing to the company. Not only that, but the fans have also been constantly urging The Great White’s AEW debut with fantasy bookings.

Moreover, at a recent Meet n Greet event at a bar, Sheamus was straight up asked about a potential move to All Elite Wrestling. The former WWE Champion said he was just enjoying his time off and that his wife made all the decisions. You can check out their interaction in the clip below:

“I’m just enjoying my time off right now. I don’t know, ask my wife, she makes all the decisions.”

Former WWE star Sheamus mourned the loss of AEW star

Much like the entire wrestling world, Sheamus also mourned the sudden demise of AEW star PAC. He passed away a day after wrestling at the All Out 2026 pay-per-view. The Celtic Warrior sent out a message saying PAC was an incredible person and in-ring performer. He reflected on their first match in 2005 and heaped major praise, saying there would be no other wrestler like him.

“I can’t believe it. Ben was an incredible performer and an even better fella. Salt of the Earth, humble, a pleasure to be around and loved by everyone in the locker room. I first saw him wrestle in 2005 and couldn’t believe what I was watching. I’d never seen anything like him. He truly defied gravity. Rest in peace, Ben. There won’t be another like you,” Sheamus wrote.

While PAC won’t be there if Sheamus joins AEW, it would still be a fresh chapter in his wrestling career if he makes the move.
