A top AEW star completely lost it after a major setback and issued a huge statement.
The aforementioned star in question is Persephone. On the October 28 episode of Dynamite: Fright Night, Persephone defended her TBS Championship against Queen Aminata in the show’s double main event. The spectacular showdown saw Aminata leave it all in the ring and even fend off interference from Persephone’s ally, Dr. Britt Baker, and deliver a headbutt and knee strike combination in the final moments to pin Persephone and become the new champion.
In a video AEW posted on X after the show, Persephone howled in agony over losing her title. Despite that, she reminded fans that Queen Aminata wanted to be part of the Blood & Guts match last year but was left out due to injury, and said one spot remained on each team competing in the Women’s Blood & Guts match, hinting at their respective participation. At the same time, she said that she wanted her TBS title back at the Blood & Guts episode.
“Britt, Britt, she took my title, she took my title, that was mine … Aminata, you wanted Blood & Guts so bad last year. Well this year there is a spot left on each team. Blood & Guts, I want my title back.”
Queen Aminata sent an emotional message after her victory at AEW Dynamite: Fright Night
Queen Aminata’s victory on Dynamite: Fright Night marked her first-ever AEW singles title win. Afterward, she took to social media to share an emotional message. The 33-year-old star dedicated her victory to her father, who recently passed away. Aminata said she loves him and missed him a lot.
“Dad… I did it. I love you and I miss you so much,” wrote Aminata.
However, things could go downhill for Aminata, especially after Persephone crashed out after losing the title. However, she is not looking to rest and has already begun to work on regaining the TBS Championship with Britt Baker once again. With a challenge seemingly laid out for the Blood & Guts event, it remains to be seen what happens next.
