A controversial finish at NXT Halloween Havoc 2026 involving a WWE champion left fans visibly displeased.
Kelani Jordan defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Wren Sinclair at the event. Wren looked to dethrone Jordan and seek some retribution for her ally, Kendal Grey, whom Jordan had defeated to win the title.
Thanks for the submission!
Sinclair took an unconventional route to receive the title shot. She was previously suspended for attacking Jordan and a referee. Wren disguised herself as AAA’s Lady Shani to enter the 20-woman battle royal and won the entire thing to become the No. 1 Contender.
Jordan and Sinclair put on a highly competitive match at Halloween Havoc. The bout saw several near falls, with both women surviving each other’s best offense. Wren repeatedly caught the champion in her Final Wrench submission. However, Kelani dragged Sinclair towards the corner to escape, causing the challenger’s face to hit the turnbuckle.
Jordan converted it into a roll-up pin and used the bottom rope as leverage to defeat Wren. The controversial finish didn’t sit well with the live audience, who were left confused and displeased with how the bout ended. The night ended in disappointment for Wren Sinclair, who failed to win her maiden WWE NXT Women’s Title.
Kelani Jordan might have retained the title against Sinclair, but she has another title defense coming up on the next episode of WWE NXT. Robert Stone announced that Jordan will be defending the NXT Women’s Championship against a mystery opponent on Wednesday.
