The New York Jets’ position on Garrett Wilson has not moved, and on Saturday ESPN reported that the rest of the league should take them at their word. Adam Schefter wrote that a well-placed source told him there is “no way” the Jets trade Wilson before the NFL’s November 10 deadline, despite interest from other teams.
Thanks for the submission!
Fans on X, however, were not quite convinced.

Another wrote, “He’s not getting traded. Jets tryna fake pump his value up.”
One X user tweeted, “Jets have been sellers before. No way is the right public stance when your asking price is multiple firsts. Doesn’t mean the phone isn’t ringing.”
“Jets is where players careers go to die!” tweeted one more.
One more fan said, “The Jets be lying …. that just means we want more picks.”
“Absolute joke of a franchise wasting his career. They could potentially get a 2nd round pick for him. Maybe a 1st, we’ve all seen how stupid Houston was giving up a 2nd for MHjr,” commented another.
Wilson’s own numbers give both sides something to work with. He is on pace for a fourth 1,000-yard season in five years despite an offense that ranks among the league’s least productive, and his target count fell to nine over the past two games combined.
Whether the stance holds until November 10, and whether the ball starts finding him again, will decide how much of that confidence survives the next week.
Why the Jets are holding firm on Garrett Wilson?
Ownership is believed to love him, and the organization views him as a piece to build around rather than another asset to flip. The contract supports that reading. Wilson signed a four-year, $130 million extension in July 2025 that runs through 2030, and at 26 he is younger than most of the veterans teams chase at the deadline.
New York’s draft cupboard changes the math as well. The Jets already hold three 2027 first-round picks: their own, the Colts’ selection from last year’s Sauce Gardner trade, and the higher of Dallas’s two from the Quinnen Williams deal. That leaves less need to keep stockpiling.
Wilson, meanwhile, has said he wants to stay. “I want to be here, man,” he told reporters on Wednesday. “I want to win games and that’s the one thing we’ve been missing on here. I love it here. Do I love it more than I love winning? Nah, to be completely honest, but I’m hopeful.”
Asked about his workload, he answered, “No doubt, no doubt,” and explained that his frustration came from wanting to win rather than from wanting out. He leads the team with 37 catches for 444 yards and three touchdowns.
The Jets are 2-5 and have lost five of their past six, the most recent a 28-25 home defeat by a Miami Dolphins team that had not won a game all season. Wilson finished that one with three targets, two catches, and 26 yards, the targets and the yardage each a season low.
